My art made the cover of this year's yearbook. I drew the bird and another student drew the sun.

The Spud Project: First Place!!!!

For this project, we were asked to turn a  regular potato into anything we wanted. I decided to turn mine into a dinosaur or "SPUDOSAUR". We also had to design the box it went in and write a story about the spud. All of the 4th graders viewed and voted on whose was the best. Yours truly won first place!!!! The reward for first place was a huge bag of potato chips!

Inventor's Project: Third Place!!!

To the right you can see my entry for the 5th grade Inventor's Project. I created the "Pizza Shark" which cuts pizza into even slices and prevents the cheese and toppings from falling off.  I got 3rd place in this contest, and I put a ton of hard work into it.

Tropicana Speech Contest: Third Place!!!

I won 3rd place out of about 132 fifth graders in the Tropicana Speech Contest! My persuasuve speech was called "Imagine". I worked really hard on it, so at least I got in the top three.

Vids for Kids: DVD Drive Year 2!!!!

This was my family's 2nd year collecting new and gently used DVD's to donate to our local children's hospital. We beat last year's record of collecting 100 DVD's . This year we collected (drum roll please) 168!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can see the 3 boxes full behind me. Note: I was sick that day. UGH!

3/13/12 Tropicana Speech Contest: First Place in my Class!

I wrote and gave a speech called "Imagine" about using your imagination for the Tropicana Speech Contest. I competed against 21 other students and won first place! Next, I go up against the winners of the other 5th grade classes at my school. Wish me luck!

Giving Back- Vids for Kids

This was our first year collecting new and gently used movies for children in our local children's hospital. When I was in the hospital, movies helped to distract me from the bad things I was dealing with. So, we decided to think of a way to give back and help other kids in the same situation. I came up with Vids for Kids. We collected 100 movies and donated them this year!
